the deference line's current source material is the 2026-08-11 tree

Taken by the corpus-reconciliation round under its dispatched write scope. A which document governs ruling and nothing more: it adopts no content, registers nothing, and moves no row to workspace-established.

projects/deference/note-dump-2026-08-11/ is the line's current source material. projects/deference/note-dump-2026-06-27/ remains the line's recorded starting point, is unmodified, and stays where the ported Lean's provenance points, because the port was made from it and provenance records what happened. Both trees stay specification layer.

The August tree's own intake receipt reserved this: it recorded that the deference README and items 7–9 cite the June tree and that "whether and how they move to this one is the maintainers' call, not this receipt's." A maintainer-dispatched round whose dispatch asks for exactly that audit is that call. Pointers into the June tree that name a document the August tree corrects have been repointed; pointers whose target is unchanged have been repointed for currency, and the round's report records which was which.

What this does not settle. Whether the source line's corrected faithful-acceleration frontier should be described in this line's ledger at all is in the queue above, unresolved. So is whether endpoint-preservation is a target this program wants.
