answerability, auditability, and efficacy are distinct names

2026-08-13 · settled · DECISIONS.md line 3333

Answerability is the relational status in which another participant with standing attributes consequences under their practice and may raise a challenge one owes an answer to. Auditability is the record property that every liability has exactly one record-computable fate: discharged, mooted by authorized revision, suspended, or open and charging. Loss of identity across a retired vocabulary is an audit discontinuity. Efficacy is the model-relative transition-system property that exercising a normative power reaches its object under every policy of the other party.

Efficacy is named but not fully analyzed. Current mathematical support is limited to the bridge fixture's C7 independence result and corrigibility theorems that consume the grant invariant. Code identifiers and test names are deferred to a later round.
