the source rule is hers and anchored; the disclosure duty covers known compromise

2026-09-26 · settled · DECISIONS.md line 5595

Maintainer decision, landed by the after-compromise round. The rule choosing among the retrospective evaluation, the directive and the floor is an entry at J's meta level, set by her and anchored at the decision (ruleAt, ruleAt_later); the default is retrospective if available within the settlement window, else the directive, else the floor (sourceOf). The suppression trap — an agent expecting a harsher retrospective than the directive would prefer she never re-evaluate — closes because the rule is hers and suppression requires a missed disclosure, counted once, with the band's width below ϖ (suppression_loses). The correction the round found: the landed missed-disclosure clause counts the agent's own covert influence only, so suppressing a third party's compromise was free; the duty now covers any compromise of her evaluation the agent knows of, whoever caused it (missedKnownDisclosure; the third party's undisclosed implant owes a report under it and not under the landed clause, third_party_duty_witness). Old-to-new map: Model2.missedDisclosure ↦ missedKnownDisclosure, differing on third-party rows only; what the agent knows is count integrity. Rejected alternative: the duty limited to the agent's own influence (the exact counterexample: the free suppression of a third-party retrospective).
