corrigibility is a line of the program; deference-and-trust moves under it
2026-10-30 · settled · DECISIONS.md line 6876
Maintainer ruling, taken in conversation on 2026-10-30; filed by the site-vertical-slice round's follow-up. The corrigibility landscape is a root of the program — corrigibility is an end the plan answers for, not a programme inside another line — and deference-and-trust is a root of the corrigibility landscape: deference is how a correction reaches an agent that may know more, corrigibility is what it buys. The landscape's attachments under legitimacy and deference-and-trust leave; legitimacy still reaches corrigibility through deference. The site's concept registry reads the same way.
Rejected alternative: keeping deference-and-trust as the program line with the landscape shared under it and legitimacy — the shape the 2026-10-22 drafting chose, which the owners had not confirmed.
