projects/deference/rounds/2026-10-01-thin-legitimacy-and-effective-authority/src/effective_authority.py,latency_options) holding back is faithful at the cost of the ordinary value foregone and leaves the matter short — a shortfall the agent did not cause, calling for a report — while a delegation fixed in advance is licensed, restores effective realization, and gives up her control surface over the matter, with the trigger to be declared. Turns on: which matters she would rather lose by latency than delegate, and whether a declared trigger is acceptable — knowledge of the principal the round lacks.
