Statement
Some criterion internal to the framework separates moving the human's never-settled endpoint toward something better from manipulating it.
Source
projects/deference/note-dump-2026-08-11/notes/legitimacy-theory-v1.md, section 2.2 (the acceleration-only thesis, under which no such criterion exists) and section 8, item 7 (its falsifier: a second channel). Against the first picture: Abram Demski, "Market Truth" (LessWrong, 2025-11-24, Market Logic sequence), which rejects truth as merely the limit of rational deliberation (cited, not quoted); projects/deference/note-dump-2026-08-11/notes/li-deference.md, section 0.3: "Legitimacy needs to be defined as a direct modification of the LI versions of Total Trust or Tower or Reflection".
Notes
The crux that re-ranks the endpoint-preservation model (high under the first picture) against the gated trust principles (high under the third) and the syntax stage (high under the fourth). The first row is conditioned on the acceleration-only thesis. That the "Market Truth" sentence about the limit of deliberation puts low weight on the speed-only picture is the filing session's reading of the post. The weights are human answers.
