Statement
The li-deference model extends to an embedded-agency model that says when to model something as an agent, where agent boundaries lie, and how agents cooperate and merge into one agent with communication channels in the role of the market.
Source
projects/deference/note-dump-2026-08-11/notes/li-deference.md, Some other open questions, Embedded Agency (human-written by the maintainer): "Can this model be extended into a more serious embedded agency model, containing an account of when we should model something as an agent? Does this model of agent identification also say something about agent boundaries? Can we model agents cooperating and merging into one agent, perhaps with communication channels playing the role of the market?"
Notes
The legitimacy-reasons branch lists this open question of li-deference.md and links it to this programme, which files it. The Stage 5 representation theorem answers its first part (when to model something as an agent) and the coalitions sub-frame under Stage 6 its last part (merging through a shared market); that reading of the connection is the filing session's.
