oq-manipulation-theorem

leaf/question · drafted

Statement

The manipulation theorem is assembled from its four ingredients: a second calibration condition separating calibration-to-self from calibration-to-truth, the evidence/preemption distinction, the transfer-of-trust attack, and non-recoverability.

Source

projects/deference/note-dump-2026-08-11/notes/deference-in-logical-induction-v6.md, section 8 ("The manipulation theorem", its four ingredients "a sketch awaiting assembly"); the ingredients originate in projects/deference/note-dump-2026-08-11/anson-notes/trust-between-inductors-summary-v2.md, line 162; ingredient (d) is the finite theorem trace-nonrecoverability; ingredient (c) has a public kernel claim, kernel-no-laundering.

Notes

Conditioned on the finite non-recoverability theorem as an implication: it is one of the four ingredients. The endpoint-preservation note claims the evidence/preemption distinction "falls out of the definition" (section 2.2).
