Statement
Condensation's simple and conditioned scores can be read as expected explanation lengths under two retrieval conventions: invoke every latent overlapping the topic, and the same with the information shared with broader latents not counted.
Source
The maintainer's LessWrong posts Condensation (2025-11-09, https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/BstHXPgQyfeNnLjjp/condensation) and Condensation & Relevance (2026-01-23, https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/2x9yatKKTRMabQAWq/condensation-and-relevance), read as treating latent variables as explanations of the given variables whose quality is measured in entropy, the expected length of the explanation.
Notes
The filing session's reading of the scores, restated to two scores.
